This course will help you learn how to use SharePoint to bring business intelligence to the forefront for your users and customers. This class is built to take your SharePoint BI knowledge to the next level. Hands-on labs will reinforce the concepts learned and help familiarize you with the tools in an actual SharePoint environment. Topics covered include basic SharePoint server architecture, Excel, Power Pivot, Power View, PerformancePoint, SQL Server Reporting Services 2012 and site branding.



BI Consultant and Trainer
As a Business Intelligence Consultant and Trainer for Pragmatic Works, Mitchell’s focus is on the full BI Stack (SSIS, SSAS and SSRS). In addition to the BI Stack, he also has experience with Data Modeling, T-SQL, MDX, Power Pivot and the Power BI Tools. Mitchell graduated from the University of North Florida in 2007 and is constantly expanding his knowledge on all things SQL Server.


What to Know Before the Class

Very little time is spent in the class ramping-up students on the basics of Reporting Services and general cube concepts. End-user experience with SharePoint is beneficial.

    • SQL Server Data Tools (SQL 2012/2014) or Business Intelligence Development Studio (SQL 2008/2008R2)
    • SQL Server Management Studio
  • Microsoft Excel 2010 or later with Power Pivot add-on installed
  • AdventureWorksDW2008R2 or AdventureWorksDW2012 databases installed on the instance
  • AdventureWorks Cube installed on the Analysis Services instance
